WHAT WE BELIEVE

About God

WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

About Jesus

WE BELIEVE that our Lord Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, fully God, fully Man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and now reigns in glory until all things are put under His feet.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers at the time of salvation. We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the endowment of power subsequent to conversion given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism.

About Mankind

WE BELIEVE that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of creation. He is now, by reason of the fall, spiritually depraved and alienated from his creator. Apart from God’s grace, man has no ability to attain his high calling.

About Sin

WE BELIEVE that those who are called by the name of Christ should not continue in sin. Understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin only begins the process of sanctification, we believe that justification is by grace through faith in our Lord’s sacrifice on Calvary.

About The Bible

WE BELIEVE in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, given by the Holy Spirit without error, as He moved upon holy men of old. Furthermore, we believe that the church has no authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to these same Scriptures, which were subsequently accepted as canon by the early Christian Church.

Tom Thrapp

Senior Pastor

Pastor Tom and his wife Pam moved from Southern California to join Church on the Rock as the Associate Pastor. Tom was elected Senior Pastor in 2020. They love people and love to share the life-changing power of a relationship with Jesus Christ. They have five children; Sally, Hayley, TJ, Gracie, and Sam.

James Taylor

Worship & Family Pastor

Pastor James and Jacqueline Taylor moved in 2023 from Los Angeles, California. Pastor James joins Church on the Rock as the Worship & Family Pastor and leads our church in worship every week as well as directs our children’s and youth programs. Pastor James and Jacqueline have a passion for leading the church into worship and have a love for kids and youth. They are raising 3 boys; Gage, Peyton and Liam.

Larry Rich

Fellowship Pastor

Pastor Larry and his wife Pat have been serving the community of Savannah for over 50 years. Their goal continues to be leading people to Jesus and glorifying God through all that they do. They have three grown children and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
